| CGS MEETING PLANS December Meeting - December 9th The meeting will have the traditional December elements: * Toys-for-Tots (bring an unwrapped toy for a deserving child) * Grab bag (bring a wrapped gift to share, around $10) * Pizza (bring your unwrapped appetite) This year the board is also cooking up a special fashion show. Wear your favorite outfit. | EVENT NOTES On Sunday, November 16th, 2008, the Transgender Day of Remembrance was held. Sponsored by the Illinois Gender Advocates, this was a candlelight vigil hosted at the Center on Halsted, to honor the memory of the transgender and gender variant men and women throughout the world who were killed during the preceding year due to their gender expression. The featured speaker was Diane Schroer. |

Cole Thaler at Lambda Legal advises us that the ACLU, one of Lambda Legal’s ally organizations, is taking a fresh look at the Illinois Department of Public Health’s problematic policy for change of sex designation on birth certificates.
