You may be eligible to use online tax preparation software for free.

If your adjusted gross income is less than $56,000, you probably qualify to file online for free through the Free File program. Filing for both the state and federal returns are available for the program. The links above will let you know whether you qualify for the service, and, if you want, will recommend which companies you can use. Not all of them offer free state preparation or filing. You also get free e-filing, or you can choose to print your return and mail it.
